Island time or not, Donuts wait for no one! This past week I made a trip down to South Padre Island, TX with my sisters for a "Sister Trip". while there we made a quick stop at the islands local donut shop called "Captain Donut". I mean what kind of donut queen would I be if I didn't stop and try a donut?
Captain Donut had great reviews on Yelp which made me very excited to go there and try their donuts, however when I got there I was sadly disappointed with service my sisters and I received. While the donuts were good, the service was terrible. I honestly do not like to give anyone bad reviews but I also do not like feeling like a burden when purchasing something. The man working had zero to little personality and did not greet us or say thank you for our business, he seemed as if we were bothering him by being there and getting some donuts. Now I understand that not everyone is a morning person but that is no reason to be rude to another person, especially if you work in the food business.
Getting back to the donuts, which were very good looking and pretty good tasting! These donuts weren't the regular gourmet donuts that I normally try and blog about, they were pretty much the same type of donuts that you could get down the street at your local donut shop, but keep in mind that's what this little place was! if you ever find yourself in South Padre and craving a donut at the same time I would say to check this place out for yourself. However I hope that you receive better customer service than I did!
